Terms & Conditions


Payments:

  • Payment is required upon job completion, or prior to attending site, unless the customer is an existing account holder;
  • Special parts require a minimum 50% deposit prior to ordering;
  • Failure to pay as arranged may incur forfeiture of the goods until payment in full is received, and any additional costs associated with the failure to pay;
  • Interest may be charged for all outstanding debts using the Statutory Interest rate for loans as set by the ATO;
  • Late payment fees may also be charged; and
  • Interest and late payment fees may be charged at the discretion of Tasmanian Locksmiths Pty Ltd.

 

Warranties:

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

For major failures with the service, you are entitled:

  • to cancel your service contract with us; and
  • to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.

For major failures with goods, you are entitled:

  • to choose a refund or replacement for major failures.

If a failure with the goods or service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

 

Cancellations:

Jobs requiring attendance may be cancelled only prior to our technician being dispatched and solely at the discretion of the management. Charges for callout may apply.

After hours jobs cannot be cancelled without incurring the cost of the after hours minimum charge of $180.00.

Products on order cannot be cancelled if they are special order products without losing any deposit paid. In some circumstances it may be possible to pay the freight costs and restocking fee but only at managements discretion.

 

Retention of Title:

Tasmanian Locksmiths Pty Ltd retains ownership of all goods until paid for in full. Goods may be repossessed without prior notice at anytime until full payment is received.

 

Products supplied by others:

Tasmanian Locksmiths Pty Ltd takes no responsibility nor offers any warranty on products purchased or supplied by anyone except Tasmanian Locksmiths Pty Ltd

 

Promotions:

Where advertising or in-store promotions offer discounts off sale prices, discounts apply only to goods within the promotional campaign and do not apply to other goods offered for sale. Promotional discounts are deducted from normal sale prices for that good and do not apply to already discounted goods.

We were established in 1990 and were originally named Southern Locksmiths, this later changed to Tasmanian Locksmiths after buying out Hobart Locksmithing Service in 2004.
